My story

Mika is a lovely lady who came to us as a stray, so while her full story is a mystery, she is a friendly girl. She recently finished raising a litter of adorable kittens (who’ve all found loving homes), and now it’s her turn to be pampered and adored! Mika is very friendly and has a soft spot for snacks—she’ll happily be your kitchen shadow if it means a chance at a treat. She’s done great with kids and would be okay going home to more. While we don’t know her history with other pets, her affectionate and easygoing personality makes her a wonderful candidate for a calm and caring home. If you're looking for a sweet companion with a heart as big as her appetite, come meet Mika! She’s ready to trade in her mama duties for a cozy couch and a family of her own. Ready to Adopt? You have two options: #1- VISIT IN PERSON Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You’ll be able to meet available cats in the shelter. (Cats in foster care are not available for in-person visits.) #2- ADOPT REMOTELY OR PLACE A 24-HOUR HOLD** If you’re ready to adopt without meeting the cat first, or you’d like to place a non-refundable $25 hold to reserve a cat for 24 hours, just call or email us: (413) 781-4000 x 1 springfield@dakinhumane.org. We are often helping other clients when you call, but we return voicemails and emails within 24 hours. **Holds are not available on Saturdays and during adoption events. -------------------------------------------- All cat adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies vaccine -current distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -FeLV/FIV blood test -microchip implanted & registered to the adopter -treatment of fleas/ticks/ear mites -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days after adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your new pet.
