Sometimes, volunteering at a shelter is like living in a mystery novel: petty thefts (Where did that bag of treats go?), unexplainable forensic evidence (What is that sticky substance?), and baffling cold cases (Who decapitated the stuffed dinosaur?).But the greatest mystery of all…WHY IS CHRISSY STILL HERE???The file on Chrissy is airtight: 1 year old, 38 pounds, gorgeous, and absolutely innocent of any crime (unless stealing hearts counts). She’s the perfect size - small enough to curl up in your lap, but not so small a rogue hawk could make off with her during a backyard stroll. Healthy, gentle, never destructive, and already housetrained from her foster home days, Chrissy has range: fetch, tug, hiking, leisurely walks - she’s game for anything. But her top skill? Snuggling. Lots and lots of snuggling.Her backstory could be Chapter One: abandoned at a Tractor Supply, skinny, scared, and confused. A kind stranger took her in, where she proved to be the perfect houseguest - great with kids, cats, and the resident dog. That was just the recovery arc. Now she’s ready for the happily ever after.Here’s the plot twist we want: You walk into the shelter, meet Chrissy, and realize you’ve solved the case. You’ve found the dog of your dreams!Chrissy is at Animal Aid Society, 80 Butler Farm Road, Hampton. Open for visits 9 a.m. to noon, weekends and holidays included.The final mystery will be how you ever lived without her.Interested?
