My story

Tessie is doing absolutely amazing in her foster home—so much so that it feels like she has lived there forever. She is extremely sweet, loving, and well-behaved, settling into her routine with ease. Tessie is housebroken, doesn’t beg for food, and isn’t highly food-motivated, though she’ll happily accept a gentle treat. At night, she’s just as content curling up in bed with her humans as she is snoozing in one of her dog beds. During the day, she often keeps her foster company in the home office, politely requesting breaks from work for some well-deserved pets. She loves being outside and happily spent most of her first weekend exploring and lounging in the yard. Tessie enjoys a mix of cuddling and light playtime, making her a balanced companion for both relaxation and fun. She walks nicely on leash, isn’t reactive to passing dogs, and takes her time sniffing out all the interesting scents along the way. She already knows “sit,” is treat-motivated, and continues to show great manners in and out of the home.Tessie was a superstar at her recent adoption event, comfortably greeting everyone she met. She made fast friends with both kids and adults, offering soft tail wags, friendly sniffs, and a calm curiosity that put everyone at ease. She interacted politely with children of various ages, accepting pets and treats with gentleness. Her sweet demeanor and affectionate nature made her a favorite among attendees.Around other animals—dogs, cats, and even bunnies—Tessie stayed cool, calm, and collected. She enjoyed relaxing in the A/C with her human friends, took treats gently, and showed off her “sit” like a pro. She also seemed housetrained at the event, taking polite potty breaks away from the crowd. Tessie handled the car ride beautifully, hopping right in and enjoying the trip with her nose to the window. On leash, she walked nicely, only pulling when something especially exciting caught her attention.Tessie has also enjoyed Dog’s Day Out adventures, where she shines as a loyal, affectionate, and easy companion. On one outing, she wasted no time hopping into her volunteer’s lap and quickly making herself comfortable. She proved to be an excellent patio date, calmly lounging at a waterfront café, happily accepting pets and compliments from passersby, and greeting her walkers with enthusiastic tail wags whenever they returned from inside. She takes treats gently, loves a good pup cup, and carries herself with a calm, matur

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Tessie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
