My story

Meet Sammie, a 4-year-old Miniature Pinscher mix who weighs in at about 20 pounds—but carries himself like he’s at least 80. Sammie is confident, opinionated, and full of personality. He loves his people, loves attention, and definitely loves being the center of the universe (he might be a little dramatic, but in a charming way). Sammie is extremely treat-motivated and housetrained—he’ll even yell when he needs to go outside and will hold it like a champ. He’s tidy, smart, and has a newfound love for small stuffed animals and playing fetch (though he’s still working on the whole “bring it back” part). This little guy has energy to burn and needs daily exercise to keep his body and brain busy. He can get amped up in high-energy moments, and when he’s overstimulated, it’s best to give him space instead of trying to snuggle. He’s not mean—just a guy with boundaries who appreciates humans that respect them. Sammie is looking for a home that understands small dogs with big feelings. If you’re ready to meet him on his level—with patience, structure, and, of course, snacks—he’ll reward you with loyalty, laughter, and a whole lot of love (and maybe a slightly soggy stuffed toy). His adoption fee is $300  plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents.  He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
