My story

Jimmy is a gentle boy with soft eyes and a heart full of quiet curiosity. He is easy to leash and walks calmly, often leaning in for reassurance along the way. He’s shown signs of being house-trained and is polite with both people and other dogs. While a bit cautious at first, especially in new spaces, Jimmy warms up with patience, baby talk, and a few treats. He’s not much for toys just yet, but he loves gentle affection and is happy to stroll by your side. Jimmy’s ready to find a calm, loving home where he can feel safe and loved. Come meet him at ACCT Philly, open daily from 10 am to 6 pm VIDEOS Jimmy is such a sweet-gentle boy and loves him some hotdogs!: https://youtube.com/shorts/BevqkIKAcw8?si=f6Ym3EH2dySHkqJi Jimmy & Nugget Monster Fence Meet: https://youtube.com/shorts/YsuwfWRFV7w?si=9LN-eY0vYdS0Usme Cookies for Jimmy: https://youtube.com/shorts/qK0rho6E4X0?si=7EJFs_N3bbbTW8aa Pets for Jimmy: https://youtube.com/shorts/bqF0HG7U5kY?si=eOQ1IsgJo3MFsVM7 BEHAVIOR Staff 7/23/25: Jimmy meets Skruff: Jimmy was avoidant, tail low, seeking eye contact from the handler, ears back, side eyes, avoiding interacting with the other dog. The other dog was barking at him with paws up on the fence. They sniffed at the fence initially, then jimmy was avoidant, then he went up again and did a low Level bark/lunge at the other dog. He then came to the handler without a prompting. 07/22/2025 volunteer notes: When I arrived at the kennel, Jimmy was standing up looking at me with soft eyes. I offered him a treat which he took but dropped. I opened the kennel door and he stood still while I leash him. He came right out. There was a traffic jam in the kennels but he waited patiently for his turn. As we walked, he leaned into me. He walks well on leash and does not seem to pull much at all. We walked outside and he had a long pee leading me to believe he is some level of house trained. He walked around sniffing. I had a male volunteer with me who he kept looking back at. I asked him to walk in front of us and allow Jimmy to approach him. Jimmy slowly approached him, sniffed and leaned into for a pet. Jimmy accepted a treat from him. Jimmy accepted treats gently. A small dog was in the yard. I walked Jimmy around to see if he would show interest, he sniffed near the fence and looked at the dog but did not react. When we tried to enter the yard, Jimmy seemed a bit spooked by the door. He flinched back and I encouraged him with some baby talk, he followed me through the door. In the yard, Jimmy mostly was interested I. Sniffing and getting treats from the handlers. He was presented both a stuffed toy and a ball. He would sniff them. When we threw them, he would slowly follow and then walk away. Jimmy allowed pets with some lip licking and yawning. Jimmy walked back in and entered his kennel with no issue. Experienced gold. Medical: 7/23/25: Hair loss down spine appears to make the dog appear to have constant piloerection. The Pilo erection does not seem to be behavioral. 7/21/25 Exam: presented to intake as 3yr mal intact mastiff , upon exam pt was BAR , pt hasn wound or skin irritation going from head to back with hairloss, possibly old, has live fleas and some patches of flaky skin Weight 91.6 lbs Body Condition Score 3 - Thin Assessment Microchip Found?
