My story

Meet Hercules 💔➡️❤️ A true gentle giant with a heart as big as his head (and trust us—it’s a very big adorable head). Hercules was brought into Miami Dade Animal Services at the end of May after surviving what no dog ever should—multiple gunshot wounds. By the time we found out about him in June, his injuries were already starting to heal, but he still had fractures in his left tibia and right humerus. So now he’s on crate rest, soaking up love, snacks, and all the compliments like the big, squishy prince he is. Despite everything he’s been through, Hercules has remained the sweetest soul. He’s a bulldog mix with the emotional depth of a poet and the spatial awareness of a bulldozer. He truly doesn’t know his own size, which is why he’s best suited for a home with older kids (unless your toddler is secretly a linebacker). He’s dog-social with larger pups and has done well in playgroups—but no small fragile floofs, please. This beefcake needs sturdy friends who can handle a little love tap from his bowling ball of a body. To top it all off, Hercules has an elongated soft palate (snorty boys, rise up!), and he’ll be having surgery on 8/8 to help him breathe easier and live his best snuffle-free life. He’s been through hell, but Hercules is proof that resilience comes in all shapes—even extremely wiggly, slightly drooly, bulldoggy ones.
