Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home. Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families. Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known. Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available. Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team Date into Rescue: 06/04/2025 Reason for being in rescue: Raleigh Puppy Mill bust Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Pearl is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Pearl arrived in rescue with an eye infection that has been treated. Pearl arrived in rescue from poor conditions. She and all the dogs in the home have been proactively treated for mange. Our best guess is that Pearl is a maltese mix but she came from a puppy mill where there were also chihuahuas and pomeranians. We cannot guarantee that she is hypoallergenic or that she won't shed. Weight: 8.7 lbs Height: 12 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $399 Fence needed? No What kind of home would be best for me? Pearl would do best in a home that’s calm, predictable, and patient. A place where quiet routines, gentle affection, and steady companionship are part of everyday life. She’s not one for chaos or commotion, but she’ll blossom in the right environment — one where love isn’t loud, but constant. A friendly, calm dog in the home would be a true gift for Pearl — someone to show her the ropes, model confidence, and remind her that it’s okay to relax and enjoy the moment. Their presence gives her the courage to try new things, and she follows their lead beautifully. What is my personality like? Meet Pearl — Petite, Poised, and Perfectly Ready to Shine. Some dogs light up a room with zoomies and barked hellos — Pearl, however, does it with a single glance. This small, snow-white beauty has a quiet presence and a delicate charm that turns heads without even trying. But behind those graceful eyes is a shy soul, still learning to trust that the world can be kind. This little lady is gentle, shy, and a bit reserved, and she’s still figuring out what it means to be safe, to be loved, and to belong. Life hasn’t always been easy for her, and she’s taking her time to adjust to the idea that good things are now truly hers to keep. Pearl is most at ease when she’s with other dogs. She’s always had canine companions, and she lights up when she’s around them. Leashes are a brand-new concept for her — she doesn’t quite understand what they mean yet, but they don’t scare her, and we know with time, patience, and a bit of practice (and maybe a treat or two), she’ll get the hang of it. She’s incredibly observant and smart, quietly taking everything in. And let’s not forget — this girl is a natural in front of the camera. She poses like a pro and knows just how to melt hearts with every snapshot. If you’re looking for a companion who will grow with you, trust you, and one day look at you with the kind of love that only comes from a dog who’s learned she’s finally safe, Pearl is waiting. Small, beautiful, and ready for a fresh start — she’s more than a dog. She’s a hidden gem, just waiting to be found. How do I act when I first meet new people? Pearl doesn’t come bounding into new situations, but rather tiptoes carefully, with hope in her heart and eyes looking to you for reassurance. Other tips and tidbits: Pearl arrived in rescue as part of a puppy mill. We have no history on her. Based on her overall health and condition our veterinarian has aged her at 2.5 years old. We celebrate her birthday 03/03/2023. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina. To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. July 20, 2025, 7:07 am
