My story

Meet Bear! This big, handsome guy weighs in at 88 lbs and has a friendly, outgoing personality to match his size. BBear absolutely lives for attention—he’ll lean his whole body into you for pets and happily greet everyone like they’re his new best friend. He`s always up for a game of fetch with tennis balls and will happily drop them at your feet for another round. He even knows a few basic commands like “sit,” “shake,” and “down”—especially when treats are involved! Bear is a strong boy who pulls a bit on leash and can get a little excited around other dogs, but he responds well to redirection and encouragement. There`s nothing he loves more than chowing down during mealtime, so we recommend giving him plenty of space so that he can enjoy his meals without interruption! Have a resident pup at home? Bring them in for a doggy meet-and-greet to make sure they`ll be compatible canine companions! Ready for a big companion with an even bigger heart? Come meet Bear today!This pet is eligible for an Adoption Audition! What is an Adoption Audition? It’s a 5-day, no-strings-attached, trial adoption period. You can take this pet home to try it out! Interested? Come to the shelter any time during open hours and talk to one of our Customer Care staff! Be sure to check the `shelter information` box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Fairfax Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours!
