My story

5 years ago, Diamond was brought to FFAA where she was adopted out and was a loved family cat. A couple of weeks ago, however, she was tearfully brought back. Her main caretaker was in the process of moving out of the family home and was concerned that she would not be cared for in their absence. It is one of those cases where the love for the animal supersedes the desire to keep them, so we took Diamond back.Diamond's return to shelter living has been very difficult for her. She is shut down, shy, and quiet, hiding at all hours of the day, and barely eating, drinking, or using her litter box. She does not have an ounce of meanness in her, but her extreme fear and distress makes it difficult to provide her comfort or get to know her. She is in need of someone who will look past her frosty and fearful exterior and choose to bring her home anyways. Her previous owner described her as a social and affectionate cat who loved attention and did well with all ages of children and adults. We were told that she's playful, active, independent, cat friendly, very loveable, and enjoys sleeping in bed with her humans. Knowing these things about her, it breaks our hearts even worse to see how shut down and depressed she is.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Diamond, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
