My story

Paloma is a sweet, sensitive, 61 lb gal who’s still getting used to the big, wide world. She was raised in a home with other dogs, but she’s finding the shelter a little overwhelming. At just 6 months old, Paloma is still a growing pup who will thrive with daily play, gentle enrichment, and regular exercise to help her build confidence and burn off that young-dog energy. Right now, she’s nervous on leash and needs support with basic training, socialization, and building trust through consistent structure. With patience and a steady routine, Paloma has the potential to blossom into a wonderful companion! If you have a resident dog, we’d recommend bringing them in for a dog-to-dog meet to help her feel more at ease! Come meet Paloma today!This pet is eligible for an Adoption Audition! What is an Adoption Audition? It’s a 5-day, no-strings-attached, trial adoption period. You can take this pet home to try it out! Interested? Come to the shelter any time during open hours and talk to one of our Customer Care staff! Be sure to check the `shelter information` box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Fairfax Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours!
