My story

We want to introduce you to a special soul named Monkey, who recently joined us after being abandoned by his previous owner, whom we have been unable to locate. At 9 years old, this charming fellow is full of spunk and personality.Monkey`s journey has not been easy. His previous owner left a heartfelt note that reflects the deep bond they shared and the difficult decision to part ways due to their health issues. ??`This is Monkey. He was born in 2015, and I have loved him ever since. His rabies shot is up to date. I struggled to apply his flea & tick medicine, and sadly, he has developed a sore on his neck from fleas. Monkey may seem a bit mean because he is scared and has anxiety problems. However, he is the sweetest cat—I can truly say he is my best friend. I can`t care for him anymore, as I need to enter the hospital. He means everything to me; I fought to stay with him for as long as I could. Please find him a safe place. He is the greatest companion I have ever had, and it breaks my heart to have to do this, but I have no choice. He is an indoor/outdoor cat and doesn`t get along with other cats. I love him deeply, and Monkey is more than just a cat; he has taught me what love truly is over the last nine years of hardship together. I can no longer stay in that situation. Please help him find safety. Please protect him. Monkey is my best friend. Please find him a loving home.`While we do not condone the abandonment of pets and understand the seriousness of such actions, we believe that Monkey, though not appropriately surrendered, was truly loved. He deserves a fresh start in a forever home, and we are committed to helping him find that.Upon arriving at our shelter, Monkey understandably felt scared. He would charge at the front of his cage, hissing and swatting out of fear. However, as he got to know our staff and began to feel secure, his affectionate side emerged. Although he occasionally lets out a growl to keep us alert, we have discovered that he`s all bark and no bite!Since Monkey is not fond of other cats and can be quirky around new people, we believe he would do well in our barn cat program. Having lived both indoors and outdoors, he will appreciate a safe space where he can explore and express his lively personality.Monkey is eager for a loving home where he can embrace his true self. If you are interested in providing Monkey with a haven to enjoy his life, please come to the shelter to meet him!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt MONKEY, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
