Location: Sioux Falls, SD Meet Chinook (a.k.a. Otto) – A Gentle Soul with a Big Heart Otto is a calm, cuddly pup with a gentle spirit and a whole lot of love to give. While he has a visual impairment, he doesn't let that slow him down. Otto uses his other senses—like touch, sound, and smell—learning how to confidently navigate his world. He’s especially good at picking up on voices and following familiar sounds. He’s also great at taking cues from other dogs and will often rely on them to help guide him in new environments. Otto is crate trained overnight, keeps his kennel clean, and will go in during the day—though like many lovebugs, he’d prefer to be close to his people. He’s a lap dog through and through, and nothing makes him happier than curling up with you for a snuggle session with a toy. He gets a little playful on the couch for the first 15ish minutes because he’s feeling especially safe and connected. He hasn’t had a ton of leash experience yet, but when he has been out on a leash, he’s done very well. A yard is currently his favorite playground, and he’s perfectly content with a mellow pace. Otto is generally very chill and easygoing, with a calm presence that makes him a joy to be around, especially if he feels safe and with a person. He does have a habit of pawing at you for attention, but that is part of his visual impairment using touch to find you—we're working on helping him learn more polite ways to ask for love, but hey, it’s hard to resist this cute and loving face. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will stick by your side and fill your days with quiet affection and warm cuddles, Otto might just be the perfect match. --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration). Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Chinook, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
