Highway was named by the County Animal Control Officer who found her injured on Old Sattler Road. He of course rushed her to the vet where it was discovered she had broken one of her front legs. She was too tiny for surgery, and despite the vet's best efforts, was too small for a splint. She was given some pain meds and we were told she needed "crate rest" until she was big enough for surgery - we were afraid she would end up needing that leg amputated. However, cats are amazing healers and within a few weeks, it became obvious her leg was healing up just fine all on its own so the cage rest was lifted and she went to an amazing foster home until she was big enough to get spayed and become adoption ready. That time has come and her foster reports she is terribly affectionate and cuddly, great with her other cats and doesn't even mind the dog in the home. This little miracle kitten will be available for adoption on 7/25!HSNBA lists all animals online from the moment of intake, and our listings are updated automatically every midnight. Some of these animals may not be available for adoption at this moment, but you can always call the shelter at 830-629-5287 for clarification on the adoption process or the animal's current status.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Highway, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
