UPDATE!! Meet Sweetie! Sweetie was a street dog that a Good Samaritan had been caring for. They reached out to our Spay and Neuter Project and we got her in for spay several months back. Sadly, this girl has had a rough life on the streets and needed more than the Good Samaritans could give her! When the vet opened her up, her abdomen was full of fluids from advanced heartworm disease. Without medical treatment she literally was going drown in her own fluid. Thankfully we had an amazing foster step up and this girl has been thriving in her home. She’s on slow kill treatment and all of her fluid is gone and this girl is no longer showing symptoms. With the slow kill treatment sweetie should be negative in 12-18 months and we are happy to send 18 months of treatment with her when adopted. Sweetie is a Bully mix girl estimated around 6 but that could just be from the hard life she’s lived and she could be younger. She’s a total sweetheart who loves hard and who is thankful for all the help she’s given. She’s great with all people and animals! She’s very well behaved, typically very quiet and just an all around great girl. She’s utd, spayed and ready for her forever family! Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals. All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications! Thank you!
