My story

Hi I’m Soon-Gom, a 1-year-old boy with a calm soul and a gentle heart. I may be quiet, but I’ve been through a lot. At the shelter, I was often overlooked just because of my black fur. I was rescued just in time, before something very sad could happen. But now… I’m safe—and I’m slowly learning that the world isn’t such a scary place after all. I don’t fear people, but I like to take my time. I might keep a little distance at first, just to watch and understand. But if you’re patient with me, I’ll come closer on my own—softly, quietly, and with trust. I’m gentle with everyone—adults, kids, even adult men don’t scare me. I’m not overly clingy, but I do like being near you. Just having someone close by brings me comfort. I’m also very friendly with other dogs and would do especially well in a home with doggy siblings. On walks, I get excited when I see other dogs and might pull a little to say hello, but I have pretty good leash manners overall. I’m calm around loud noises and things like flapping banners or passing cars, and I don’t react to cats or birds—I just quietly watch. I go potty outside 100% of the time, always during walks. I don’t bark much, and I don’t have separation anxiety. I even know how to “wait”! I’m still learning my name and recall, but I’m trying my best. I’ve never bitten anyone, not even when someone takes away my treats or toys. I’m very gentle. I don’t love baths, but I stay still like a good boy. I’m also very well-behaved at the vet. One of my favorite things? Watching TV quietly next to you. I find peace just being near my person. I do have a couple of sensitivities: I’m scared of kennels, and I might flinch if someone touches my hind area. Also, I get car sick, so I need a little extra care when traveling. I think I’d thrive in a home with another calm dog, and with people who understand that quiet love is just as deep as loud affection. If you're looking for a gentle, peaceful friend who will stay by your side through life’s quietest and coziest moments… maybe I’m the one you’ve been waiting for. I’ve waited so long for a family of my own. Could it be you? With love, Soon-Gom 🐾
