Meet Dream and Delight! These two gentle giants are 9-month-old Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd mixes, each already tipping the scale at around 100 pounds — and still growing! They’re stunning, stoic, and smart, but make no mistake: they’re not your average house pets. These boys are guardian breeds through and through, with instincts that run deep and strong.Built to ProtectBoth the Great Pyrenees and Anatolian Shepherd were bred to protect livestock from predators — not just bark at the mailman. Dream and Delight have powerful protective instincts, but that doesn’t mean they come pre-programmed. They require consistent training, socialization, and leadership to shape those instincts into appropriate behavior. Without that guidance, their protective nature can become overwhelming or even dangerous. Space & Structure RequiredThese aren’t apartment dogs. Dream and Delight need space — ideally a large, secure property with livestock or animals to guard, or at least a job to do. They were bred to roam and patrol, so without secure fencing and enough room to move, they can get bored, anxious, and destructive. These breeds don’t thrive without purpose. Smart but IndependentGuardian breeds are intelligent, but not always eager to please. Training takes patience, consistency, and a deep understanding of what motivates them (hint: it’s not belly rubs). They’ll think for themselves and often decide what they think is best — which can be frustrating without a confident, experienced handleA Lifetime Commitment (and Expense)Let’s talk money. Two dogs at 100+ pounds don’t come cheap. Food alone is a serious budget item — these girls need high-quality nutrition to support their joints and overall health. Add in preventative vet care, flea/tick/heartworm prevention, grooming, and emergency care, and you’re easily looking at a few thousand dollars per year. Adopting a dog like this is a financial responsibility just as much as an emotional one. Is Your Home Their DreamDream and Delight aren’t for just anyone — they are for the dedicated, informed, and experienced. But in the right home — with land, structure, guidance, and purpose — these two could be the most loyal, loving protectors you’ve ever known.
