[The Lycoming County SPCA does not “cat test” dogs per the Association of Shelter Veterinarian’s Guidelines for Standards of Care in Animal Shelters.]---Condensed Staff Assessment Notes: Shirley is a timid dog who tolerates handling but may squirm a bit. She enjoys squeaky, fluffy toys and walks well on a leash, especially with her bonded mate, Laverne. Shirley shows no resource guarding over food and is polite towards strangers, though she can be stressed when separated from Laverne or her environment. She vocalizes her distress by wailing and attempting to dig to reunite with her mate.
