Meet Elena – A Loving Soul Ready for Her Forever Home Arriving in New York on July 30th – Urgently Seeking Adopter, Foster, or Foster-to-Adopt! Elena is a 2.5-year-old athletic sweetheart with a heart full of love and a gentle, goofy charm. Smart, affectionate, and always ready for a walk or a cuddle, she’s the kind of dog who instantly wins hearts. Dog-Friendly & Playful Elena gets along wonderfully with other dogs and would thrive in a home with a canine companion—or she’d be just as happy soaking up all the love as your one and only. Confident & Intelligent She’s a quick learner, making her a great candidate for further training. Elena is already working on her potty training and responding well to structure and routine. 💔 Her Story As a young dog, Elena was abandoned on a busy street—discarded once she was no longer a “cute little puppy.” She waited faithfully, hoping her owners would return. A kind stranger brought her to the shelter, where she’s been waiting over a year for a second chance. As a black dog, she’s been overlooked time and again—while others get adopted more quickly. But Elena hasn’t given up on people. She lights up when volunteers pass by, jumping at her kennel door, eager for affection and a connection.
