My story

Start your engines—Derby is off and running! This long-haired orange stunner was named after the iconic Kentucky Derby, and she lives up to her name in every way. Born in Kentucky and built for speed, she zooms around the room with the grace of a thoroughbred and the energy of a kitten who knows she’s been given a second chance. Derby and her sister Sadie didn’t have an easy start. Both arrived in rescue seriously ill, spent time in the hospital, and needed lots of TLC in a medical foster home. But like any true champion, Derby fought hard—and she’s made a full recovery. Now she’s healthy, thriving, and ready to race into your heart. She may be a little shy at first (wouldn’t you be after all that?), but give her a little time and patience, and she’ll be trotting over for snuggles before you know it. She adores her foster siblings, especially when it’s time to wrestle or zoom full-speed across the room. Derby would love to be adopted with her sister Sadie or into a home with another friendly feline to keep the games going.
