My story

Meet Hurley: Your Future Hiking Buddy, Couch Cuddler, and Personal Shadow Have you ever dreamed of having a four-legged best friend who’s equal parts outdoor adventurer and professional snuggler? Meet Hurley, a lovable cattle dog mix who’s ready to be your trail buddy, yard zoomie champion, and full-time nosey roommate. House trainedLeash manners? …We’re working on it. Right now, he thinks walks are an Olympic event and he’s going for gold. Very trainable—he just needs someone to show him the ropes. Sit? Stay? What are these mysterious words? No one’s ever told him, but he’s eager to learn if treats are involved.Hurley’s energy level is a solid 6 to 7, but he’s got room to grow with a jogging partner or an active family who enjoys hikes and backyard playtime. He’s super affectionate—a certified Velcro dog. He’ll follow you everywhere like a fuzzy little shadow, monitoring your every move with his adorable snout in your business. Making coffee? He’s there. Folding laundry? He’s supervising. Going to the bathroom? …He’s emotionally invested. When you finally sit down? Get ready for cuddle mode activated. Hurley will be right there, leaning in with all the love he can muster. He’s playful. He’s loyal. He’s nosey in the most charming way possible. He’s not perfect—but he’s absolutely worth it.Hurley is looking for a home with: Active humans A fenced yard Maybe a dog buddy (he plays great with the resident canine) Lots of love and a dash of patienceIf you’re looking for a goofy, sweet, and devoted companion who just needs a little guidance to become your dream dog—Hurley is your guy.Come meet him today and see how quickly he’ll steal your heart. He is neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. He is heartworm positive but Mountain Pet Rescue Asheville will cover the treatment cost. His adoption fee is $250. Apply today at mpravl.org! All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC. July 17, 2025, 2:50 am

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Hurley, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
