Flora is looking for a quiet rural home. She was born October 2024, weighing 42 lbs – she is long, lean and sleek with the cutest white socks. Flora was originally rescued in Puerto Vallarta, born to a mum who had recently given birth in a wooded area where she was trying to stay safe. Flora spent her early life to 8 months of age in a shelter and the big world is a lot for her. Flora is in foster in a wonderful setting in Duncan, BC, on acreage with a dog and 4 cats. She loves to cuddle with her animal friends. She would love a similar rural setting, ideally with another dog and she LOVES cats. Flora is a very timid girl indoors and with strangers and loud noises. But she really comes alive in her outdoor space on quiet walks, and running in the field with her dog foster sister. She runs happily and comes when calls. She avoids strange dogs as she isn’t confident, but really enjoys having a trusted dog mentor. She isn’t a barker and has been good at home alone – doesn’t chew except her chew toy. Despite her early life in a shelter, she is house trained without a single accident. Flora’s fosters, who live on 12 fenced acres, are happy to stay in her life (as are the fur friends in the home). Flora is vaccinated and spayed. She is looking for a quiet patient home who can give her support through her fears. If you think you might be the hand and heart she needs, reach out to us at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com with questions or for an application – tell us a bit about yourself and why this might be a fit.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Flora, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
