My story

Gertie is my name and if it makes me sound like a 90 yr old in a puppy body, that is fine!! I LOVE HAVING A REAL NAME!!! Call me ANYTHING as long as you feed me, kiss me, give me toys and will love me furever! I was found in the valley (need the border to Mexico in TX) and it is a BRUTAL place for dogs.... not enough people who really want to take care of us.... SO, lots of unwanted and breeding animals makes it worse than a third world country.... But, I digress, cause MY life is SAVED!! A rescuer in the valley asked a rescuer in San Antonio if she could help save me. All the other strays were beating me up and I was scared and injured and sick..... SO, of COURSE, the rescuer in SA said, bring her up.... and here I am, almost a month later and I have COMPLETELY forgotten what life was like then, cause I WILL NEVER LIVE THAT AGAIN! I am a petite flower, about 18# and I look like a border collie but have the terrier fur and body size.... so who knows what I am besides...cute, smart, happy and loving! I am ready for my forever home, I had some mange (non contagious) when I arrived, probably due to HORRIBLE conditions i lived in and starved in.... and my fur is growing in slowly. I want a good family, I am pretty active and would be so so happy with another dog or pup to play with and KIDS!! ADOPT ME SOON!! Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (inculdes transport to your area)
