My story

Cloak A17631640 lb. spayed female, approx 2 years old -This poor girl has severe bite trauma to her neck and ear. She is being treated and on meds. She is healing slowly but nicely.-She is shy meeting new people but once she’s comfortable with you she is all in!-She is an absolute Velcro girl who knows no personal space! -She loves pets and giving lots of kisses. Loves belly rubs too!-She wouldn’t take treats in the beginning but as she got more comfortable she started taking them. Sits and takes them very nicely.-No interest in toys currently-She definitely needs someone who is looking for a dog to be by their side all the time 😆 -She came across some dogs that were barking at her and she was clearly nervous. Given the trauma she endured, it’s understandable. She may do well with a very chill, dog savy dog after very slow and proper introductions. Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids•Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt •Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. •Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. •There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. •To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** •The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30 **1431 E Ferry St. Detroit
