Looking for a loyal shadow with a heart full of love? Meet Dora, a gentle sweetheart who’s happiest simply being by your side. This well-mannered girl is house-trained, walks beautifully on leash, with just a little extra enthusiasm for sniffing adventures, and takes the world in with quiet curiosity. On a recent day trip her guardians shared, Dora is a dream. She’s respectful of furniture, doesn’t bark at the doorbell, and is just as content napping on the rug as she is curled up next to you for scratches. Dora isn’t fazed by birds, squirrels, or passing pups, she’s focused on you, and the simple joys of companionship. If you’re looking for a low-key best friend who brings warmth and peace to your home, Dora is ready to be your new favorite sidekick. Come meet her at ACCT Philly, open daily from 10 am to 6 pm BEHAVIOR 07/20/2025 staff notes, playgroup: Dora was stiff at the gate and a little reactive to the other dogs. She was growling a bit. We let her in, and she was stiff and greeted other dogs assertively. She did attempt to neck other dogs and get on top of them with hard eye contact. Even when a dog was being submissive to her, she still would not break eye contact or get off of her. She was removed. 07/19/2025 staff notes: Dora was sitting on her bed but came forward slowly with nervous eyes. she sniffed the leash for awhile before allowing me to put the leash over her head. once secured she came right out and pulled minimally. she had her hackles raised as we walked through the kennels while the dogs barked at her. she went outside and seemed housebroken, looking around the area before entering the yard. she allowed all handling and was tolerant of me but seemed to prefer walking around and sniffing. she showed no more interest in me once she found the gate and wanted to go for a walk again instead. after a long walk, she came up to me with soft eyes and a wagging tail and plopped right in front of me. green 07/18/2025 day trip notes: Dora is a sweet girl who is happiest when she is right next to you. She is potty trained and went to the bathroom immediately after getting outside and finding a piece of grass. She did well in the car and seemed to just enjoy watching the city go by. She is good on the leash, pulling a little bit when she really wants to sniff something but can be easily redirected and doesn’t seem interested in other animals(birds, squirrels, cats, or other dogs out for a walk.) Dora was also very well behaved inside the house, she sniffed around and then plopped down for a nap on the rug. She didn’t seem interested to climb onto the furniture until we encouraged it so likely wasn’t allowed to before. I went to grab a package and she didn’t bark at the doorbell or try to run out when the door was opened but just stayed in her spot until I shut the door. She settled in nicely for the afternoon rotating between napping and asking for scratches before falling back to sleep. Overall an absolute sweetheart and would be a great addition to any home! 07/15/2025 staff notes: Very sweet and wiggly, likes to give kisses. Allowed all handling and walked well on the leash. She seems very nervous and stressed in the kennel.
