Meet Wilma; A happy-go-lucky pup with a heart full of joy and a nose for adventure! She arrived as a stray, and now she’s on the lookout for a loving, active home where she can continue to blossom. From the moment you meet her, it’s clear she’s eager to make a connection—greeting people with a soft, wiggly body and a big smile, excited for attention and ready to head out on an adventure.Wilma is affectionate and people-focused, often bouncing with excitement when engaging with her handler. She loves pets, learns quickly, and knows basic cues like “sit,” “down,” and even “speak”—especially when treats are involved. She takes her goodies gently and prefers human affection over toys or chews. While she may be a bit unsure during handling or when surprised by loud noises, she recovers quickly with reassurance and praise, showing just how eager she is to trust and please.This smart and social girl would thrive in a home that provides daily physical and mental outlets—think training games, sniff-based enrichment, and plenty of structure. She would benefit greatly from positive reinforcement group classes and could do well in doggie daycare, where she can play with other social pups in a safe, guided setting. Wilma has shown friendly interest in other dogs but can be a bit much for more sensitive ones, so proper introductions are key. When it comes to cats, she was indifferent at the shelter, but a home with dog-savvy felines would be best if a cat is involved.Wilma could make a great first dog for an active family ready to invest time into training and building a strong routine. She’s likely too exuberant for very young children who carry food, but older kids who can match her energy may find her a perfect playmate. With consistency, love, and a dash of cheese, Wilma is sure to shine as a fun, loyal, and affectionate companion.
