My story

Haymitch is a gentle soul with a heart full of love and loyalty. This 5-year-old, 61 pound, male labradoodle is as sweet as they come and is looking for a calm, patient home where he can continue to build his confidence and truly shine.Though he may be a little shy at first, Haymitch is incredibly affectionate once he trusts you. He knows how to sit and shake, and he’ll gladly show off his tricks in exchange for hugs, pets, and kind words. Haymitch is the kind of dog who wants to be by your side through it all—he’s a true companion dog who thrives on connection.If you’re looking for a devoted friend who just wants to love and be loved, Haymitch is ready to become your shadow, your snuggle buddy, and your forever dog.Walk-ins are available from Tuesday to Friday from 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM. For information regarding the adoption process please visit our website or read the information below THANK YOU.ADOPTION PROCESS: If you are interested in adopting from Second ChanceSPCA, please come during open hours. Adopters will visit with an adoption counselor and complete a short application. Adopters must live within the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and be at least 21 years old. Renters must provide proof of pet deposit and/or written permission by landlord to have a pet.ADOPTION FEES: Includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, fecal, and heartworm test (dogs) or FeLV/FIV test (cats). All cats and dogs are current on heartworm and flea preventative. $275 for puppies under 6 months of age and $225 for dogs older than 6 months. $175 for kittens under 6 months of age and $150 for cats older than 6 months.
