My story

If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick with movie-star looks, Derrick might just be your guy! This big, gorgeous German Shepherd is as easy to leash up as he is to love, though he’ll admit he gets a little excited when there’s a new smell to investigate on a walk (what self-respecting shepherd wouldn’t?). In the play yard, Derrick is content to entertain himself with a good sniffing session, but he’ll also come over for some well earned pets. He’s curious about squeaky toys and will give them an approving head tilt, but he’s not the type to play fetch on repeat. Derrick has been working at learning to sit on command. When he decides the timing is right he`ll dazzle you with how good he looks sitting! He enjoys treats, though they’re not always his main motivation - sometimes he’s just here for the vibes. With a medium energy level, Derrick balances independence with love, making him a versatile companion. He’s also been a star in shelter playgroups, getting along wonderfully with other dogs. If you’ve got space in your life (and heart) for a gentle adventurer who’s equal parts handsome and easygoing, Derrick is ready to start his next chapter with you.
