My story

Well hey there, I’m Oscar — and if you’re lookin’ for a true Southern gentleman with a heart as big as my floppy hound ears, you’ve just struck gold. I’m a 7-year-old American Red Heeler/Hound mix, weighing in at a solid 63 pounds of pure, easygoing charm. Life threw me a curveball when I ended up a stray, but now I’m kickin’ back in foster care, soaking up the good life while I wait for my forever folks to find me. I’m the kind of dog who doesn’t need much to be happy — just a comfy spot to nap, a nice stroll now and then, and some kind-hearted people (or pets) to share it with. I’m great with other dogs and even the feline kind, too. I’ve got that old-soul calm about me — I won’t bounce off the walls or chew your shoes. I just want to be your mellow shadow, maybe with a side of ear scratches and sweet talk. Folks say I’m a “real joy to have around,” and honestly, I take that to heart. I may not beg for the spotlight, but I’ll quietly steal it with my soulful eyes, gentle nature, and steady presence.
