Name:   Lawson          Best Guess for Breed:   Lab/retriever mix    Best Guess for Age:   10 months as of July 2025          SEX:    Male   Approximate Weight:   36 lbs as of 7/1/25; he might have a bit more to grow!   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen them with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:   DC area foster home. Lawson needs a forever home!   Special Adoption Considerations: Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think Lawson would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure he can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes.   Lawson is Looking For:   His forever home! This sweetie along with his sister London and their mama Lila came all the way from Puerto Rico to find their own families He is eagerly looking forward to having his own humans for sniffy walks and all the adventures they can dream up. And dog school so he can show how super smart he is. And then pets and cuddles and belly scritches at the end of a fun day together. And he'll want quality kibble and a cushy dog bed. Most of all, though, he wants to know he's safe and loved. In exchange, he promises all the adoring gazes and happy tail wags he's storing up, and loyal companionship for all his days. What do you say? Is Lawson the one you see by your side? What My Foster Says About Me:   Lawson has been the sweetest pup ever! He loves belly scratches and long naps on the couch. He has been doing great with potty training and understands basic commands like sit. He also has been walking great on the leash and nothing but sweet to other dogs and people. He's slowly but surely coming out of his shell and has so much love to give! Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
