My story

Prior to rescue Leo had a life of living hell. He had a dad in Korea who had kept him in a closet in the dark for 3 years & was abusing him. Can you imagine what he endured? He was rescued by the Korean rescue from this living hell & then adopted to a family in CA & the lady began to hit Leo & openly said what she was doing. The Korean rescue stepped in & put Leo into a foster in CA & he was surrendered back to them. We were asked could we help Leo, of course we said yes. This boy had the most terrible start to life. We instantly put him into a foster home in CA & then bought him back to WA. His foster mum said he is the biggest sweetheart you will ever meet. Leo is a soft gentle little soul, he is very sweet & loving & enjoys being picked up & cuddled & once he trusts you he will give you kisses. He hugs you & rests his head on your shoulder. He gets so excited when going in the car & needs a car seat otherwise her will want to climb into your lap but loves going in the car & adventures. He gets very excited now at the thought of going on a walk with his harness & leash. Leo looks straight into your soul with so much gratitude now & has put all his weight on with us. He is wonderful with his baths, we taught him to get used to the hairdryer & is so good with his grooms. Leo really does enjoy a great outfit. Leo is super smart, he taught himself to go up & down hardwood stairs. He can jump on the couch for his naps & he loves to sleep with his foster family in bed with them & cuddled up on his foster mum’s pillow. Leo eats a clean diet meaning he eats raw proteins, fruits, vegetables, fats, grains & is obsessed with his food & when it’s time for Leo to eat he starts to talk to his foster mum & do a dance & spins. He also enjoys, collagen sticks & bully sticks & his treats are homemade for him. Leo has been around many breeds of dogs & he is currently fostered with foster siblings. But he can be the only dog in the home & get all the attention he deserves. Leo is a poodle & he is roughly 17 lbs & 7 years old. Leo is neutered, microchipped, had his shots DHPP, rabies & once they expire we do not redo them as we do not over vaccinate our beloved dogs & will only redo the rabies. Leo just had a full dental scale & polish & had several teeth removed. Leo has not been around cats since being in the rescue but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have not had him around small children so we do not recommend small children & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children. Leo was tested in a daycare & did fine. He will never be a pack leader but will be a good addition to a lovely pack. We do not know for sure what breed Leo is mixed with & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. As with all of our rescues & Leo’s friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not say you will take a dog to training if you will not. Please do not email us asking is Leo potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Leo & going through the process and have read his listing fully to the end & are interested in adopting. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a home visit followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Lance who understands his needs & that meet all the requirements for this adorable little fellow. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Leo has an adoption fee of $850 & is ready for his truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what he has been through & not to be thrown away or abandoned like rubbish again.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Leo, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
