My story

Meet Plato, a small boy weighing only 9 pounds, looking to hitch a quick ride out of the shelter! Plato was found as a stray, being described by his finder as friendly, scared, and quiet. Now Plato sits in kennel, usually sleeping in his bed and peering at the people going by. Plato seems to be overwhelmed in this loud environment, understandably, and is usually shaking :( We'd love to see this boy go to a safe and quiet home where he can realize he's safe and his true personality can shine! Plato is now available for adoption at ACCT Philly- you can meet him any day from 10am-6pm! Video: Taking treats gently: https://youtu.be/a3YfC8LCO2k Plato is so scared: https://youtu.be/rFxDGnkUacg Behavior: Per Volunteer 7/15/25: He was sleeping in his bed when I approached, and he didn’t make any movement when I started to open his kennel. I dropped a few treats and he ate them right up. Didn’t resist to me leashing him and carrying him out of the kennel. He refused to walk once he was on the ground so I picked him up and carried him all the way out. He didn’t want to walk too much outside but moved with some leash pressure. Shaking full body, but it was definitely better when he was in my arms. Took treats very gently out of my hand, allowed me to carry inside. In the volunteer office he shook violently when someone else walked into the office and much less when they left. ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in.
