438 (2025) Emerson

My story

Adoption Fee: $475 *Emerson entered a shelter in New Mexico with an existing wound on his back, right flank. He was stitched at the shelter, and appears to be healed (stitches are gone), but the cause of the injury is unknown. Photo of shaved/stitched area in his profile. When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! From the foster: Emerson is a very shy but curious little guy. He's slow to warm up to people and seems to be a quiet fella so we haven't heard his voice yet. Emerson isn't potty trained but he prefers to be outside most of the time so we've only had a few accidents in the house. I often find him exploring the yard or lounging under the shady deck outside listening to the birds. Emerson is definitely a dog's dog and has done amazing integrating with our senior cattle dog and hyper little chihuahua mix, even if he hasn't quite figured out how to play with her yet. He's interested in toys but not sure what to do with them so he'd probably do great with a sibling to show him the ropes and teach him how to really be a dog. www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
