My story

PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION MEET BRONCO…. and you might call him the GOAT of all Broncos!! This absolutely adorable, 14 lb, tricolored, 2 year old Lhasa/Shih Tzu/Poodle is a sublime combination of sweetness and opinions! Lhasa (mix) lover’s (maybe Havanese?) beware — he will steal your heart like he’s stolen mine! We are working with 4 Paws Kiddo Rescue to make sure he gets the ideal home. Bronco was dumped in the shelter after a bite incident. We have not seen any issues to indicate he has any aggression. In fact, the video will show you how he is here. However, it is our job to advise of whatever history we know. Personally, we think he’s one of the best dogs we’ve ever rescued. If you want a dog who is gonna play like a maniac with toys and even fetch … follow you everywhere and prove what a good cook you are when you serve him dinner, Bronco is the pup for you! He is a foodie thru and thru!! He does need some leash training, as he pulls and is easily distracted by buses and trucks. Once he has deemed you worthy (which takes about a minute), he will soar into bed with you, snuggle until you get up and look at you with those gorgeous eyes that tell you how he feels! Lhasa are sensitive dogs and so is Bronco. He is loyal and protective to a tee and sits quietly while you work (or squeaking a toy to remind you he is there)…waiting for the next time to get all your attention! He will bark to alert in the house and sometimes on a walk, but is typically pretty quiet. If you are not at home and you are in an apartment/condo, he will bark voraciously when anyone walks by. Therefore, we suggest a home vs. apartment. When you brush him, if you hit a “knot” he will let you know! If you scold him, he will give you side eye for a moment and wait to hear “ok, now good boy” and he’s over it. He is not a dog for kids, because children are usually too frenetic and if yours aren’t…their friends probably are! Bronco does get a protective on walks when he sees other dogs and just needs training for this easily correctable trait. He loves other dogs but can get a little too excited when he first meets and needs a “getting acquainted” minute or two! He could definitely be an only dog if his people work from home or he isn’t alone much. Bronco does not have separation anxiety and his potty training skills are pretty good — but no promises at your house. All in all…Bronco is a stallion! We love him and will only let him go to the perfect home — for him and for you!! Interested? He’s the best. Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and ID If you are interested in adopting a pup from Lhasa Happy Homes, please complete the Adoption Application before calling. We will contact you once it has been reviewed. Lhasa Happy Homes will be now holding our adoption events the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month on Main Street in Santa Monica (check calendar link below for special events and directions). Our event is located at 2116 Main Street, in Santa Monica, CA. Here you will have an opportunity to interact with the dogs and see which might be a perfect fit with your household. Main Street is famous for its innovative shops and is close to the beach! Make a day of it!! Metered parking on the street and free parking on 4th and Bicknell Streets. Here you will have an opportunity to interact with the dogs and see which might be a perfect fit with your household....and do some fantastic shopping at the same time! Please do call us if you are coming to see a particular dog to make sure he/she will be at adoptions (we do not bring sick dogs to our adoption events). Please bring pictures or video of your home and yard if we have not done a home check (preferred)! Most importantly, if you have a dog, make sure you bring him or her to do a compatibility match with the dog you are interested in adopting! Don't forget to check out our Events Calendar for more information on upcoming events! See our home page for more details about our adoptions at Lhasa Happy Homes Thanks for thinking rescue and adoption and for considering saving a life. It will be the best gift you ever give yourself or your family.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt BRONCO, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
