My story

Proton was found emaciated and dirty, with eyes that told us she had a lot of love to give. Despite her circumstances, she is the sweetest, most docile girl who loves to be picked up, cuddled, and snuggled. Our family calls her Duchess Lala because she is sassy, and loves to run outside and roll in the grass rather than going for a walk. She is easy going and can chill on her bed, or go on short walks with no pulling on her leash. She likes to bark, but can easily be redirected and refocused. She`s small and easy on the leash. She has no prey instinct and has zero interest in the 5 cats with which she`s currently sharing a home. She LOVES to play with our other foster (also up for adoption) Nucleus. They play tug of war and love to steal toys from one another! She is protective of her food and possessive of toys, so she is better fed separately and on a timed basis. She is being fed small amounts throughout the day to get her back to full feeding volume. Proton is a puppy, so she can be mouthy, but can often be redirected with a toy. She would make a wonderful puppy for someone who has cats, likes a short walk, and some cuddling on the couch. She is crate trained and spends hte night crated in the same room as our other foster, Nucleus. She can be the equivalent of a ping pong stick in the morning when she`s full of energy. She lets us know when she needs to go outside and prefers to be with people but can be left alone for short amounts of time in the house. She isn`t destructive or chewy. She barks hello to new people and dogs. She is super social and generally doesn`t meet a stranger. Come meet her and see for yourself!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Proton, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
