My story

Hi, I’m Diamond! Life threw me a curveball recently—I was surrendered because I had some disagreements with the other dog in my home, especially around food. I don’t mean to cause trouble; I just like to know my meals are mine! I might be okay living with a calm, food-indifferent dog, but I'd also be perfectly happy as your one-and-only furry companion. I used to live with young kids and did well with them, but I think I’d prefer a quieter home with gentle children who understand that I need a little time and space to feel safe. No cats for me, please—we wouldn’t be a good match. At the shelter, I can be a bit protective of my kennel (it’s the only space I feel in control of), but once you take me out of it, I transform. I’m a reserved girl at first, but give me time and I’ll show you my sweet, affectionate side. I really do bond with my people once I trust them. If you’re patient, kind, and willing to go at my pace, I’ll be your most loyal companion. I may not be the easiest dog at first—but I promise, I’m worth it! I hope to meet you soon!
