*** Randy is at The Cat Cafe in downtown San Diego. ***Randy #19792: solid black, medium hair, neutered male, born approx. 6/1/24Cats: good w/ other engaging onesDogs: likely okay w/ introChildren: all agesBACKGROUND: Randy, or Randall as he is also affectionately called, was fending for himself at an apartment complex near the stadium. A cat-lover took him in, but her resident cats were not open to the idea of him staying permanently; she asked The Rescue House if we could help this sweet boy find a loving home.PERSONALITY: “He-llo!” That’s almost what Randy sounds like he’s saying when he meows. This sweet social butterfly is mellow-natured, super-affectionate, and a trilling conversationalist (he’ll talk to himself when he’s not chatting with you). What he wants most is human company… and contact. Randy will make a whole thing about following you around, pressing against your legs, giving you head-butts and body rubs, getting pets, etc. When he finally lies down, Randy is usually partly on or against you and is almost certainly within easy petting reach (belly rubs, please!) with his paws happily flexing. He is completely fine with being picked up like a baby for hugs and kisses (even twirls!). Randy will bat at toys you dangle for him though doesn’t move them much himself… but he looooves a cardboard scratcher, preferably a vertical/tilted one so he can stretch-and-scratch. COMPATIBILITY: Randy is at ease with other cats and likes to engage; he’s not always great at picking up cues from cats who want to be left alone, though, so all cats in his home should be comfortable with interaction. He has met a dog before and seemed okay with the idea. While we have not yet seen Randy around children, he is very tolerant of being handled and carried around and lets strangers pet him no problem, so respectful kids of all ages should be okay.Randy is a complete sweetheart who loves to be cooed over and told that he’s a really good boy!
