Meet Jacque, a 3-year-old--50 pound, Resilient Chow Chow Seeking a Patient and Loving HomeJacque embodies many of the classic traits of his breed. He is a dignified and independent soul, with a calm and aloof nature that is characteristic of Chow Chows. While he may not be a boisterous, overly affectionate dog or a dog who will immediately shower strangers with affection, he forms deep and loyal bonds with those he trusts. His thick, beautiful coat will require regular grooming to keep him looking and feeling his best.He would likely thrive in a calm and predictable household, ideally without young children, where he can be the center of his family`s world. Experience with the Chow Chow breed or similar independent breeds is a plus, but not a necessity for a dedicated owner willing to understand his unique personality. Introductions to any resident pets should be done slowly and carefully to ensure a smooth transition for everyone.Jacque recently tested positive for Lyme disease after being found as a stray. The great news is that he has already begun his treatment: a simple course of antibiotics. Lyme disease is not contagious to other pets or people in the home. Our staff will be happy to discuss his treatment plan and answer any questions you may have.Jacque came in as a stray, so he has an unknown history with cats, kids, and dogs.
