My story

Hippity Hop needs a HERO!! We are looking for a foster or adopter who will absolutely spoil this boy rotten. We’re talking putting him in his own Pajamas and treating him to Pup Cups in the regular. He’s that special. Hippity Hop is 1 yr 6 months old. He was originally brought into the shelter as a small puppy/stray and his owners came in and claimed him. Then he found himself back at the shelter months later, and those same owners came back and claimed him. This happened a 3rd time!! When contacted the original owners said they would be in to get him and never came 😢. The last time he came into the shelter he came in with 2 dogs that were also a part of his family. So we know he is dog friendly. He’s been tested against male and female dogs and passed. He was also in a home that had young adolescent kids. Hippity Hop was born with funky hips. He is not in pain. But when he walks, he sometimes hops, and that’s how he got his name. He was recently put on death row, in solitary confinement at the shelter because of an incident where a man came to the shelter looking for a “big headed pitbull,” and when Hippity Hop had an interaction with him, he lunged at the guy and supposedly growled (there are different accounts of this incident). We think the guy had bad intentions and Hippity could sense it. Hippity Hop is the biggest love bug; all he wants to do when brought out to play is cuddle and kiss your face and he even wraps his from paws around you for hugs- he’s precious! He was scheduled to be euthanized 6/7 at 9:30am. A whole army of people stepped up for him and we were able to bust him free on 6/6! He had been in solitary confinement for 5 days, was up to his elbows in pee, and was ravenous for food when he finally got out. This boy has been thru so much. He deserves so much better than what he’s experienced so far. His little eyes don’t lie. He’s unsure if he’ll ever be loved. When he meets people, he craves love. It’s just so heartbreaking. We can’t wait for him to find the perfect foster/adopter!!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Hipity Hop, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
