PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BELOW. IT WILL ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS. If you still have questions after, we are happy to respond through email. It is a long read and a long adoption process. Please understand we are ensuring that our babies go to great homes and we don't know you personally (yet). Understand that this is an adoption of a beautiful little soul that deserves the absolute best life. The average lifespan of a cat is 13 to 20 years. Some cats even live into their thirties, although this is far less common. So don't let that discourage you from adopting an adult cat! CAPTAIN HOOK and several feline family members were saved from a horrific hoarding case in Riverside, California. We know they are all related because the horrible human woman, kept letting them mate. When the Rescue Mama found out she took action. As of July 2025, 75 cats have either gone to other rescues or have been saved by us. You will know who these cats are by their names. They have all been named after the show "Once Upon A Time". Aside from the necklaces the kitties wear i in their professional pictures, Rescue Mama names her rescue cats after shows she watches. Meet CAPTAIN HOOK, a striking Bombay cat from Riverside, California, whose sleek black coat and golden eyes are matched only by his big heart and curious spirit. This handsome, large-framed gentleman has weathered a challenging past with quiet strength and resilience, emerging not just intact but full of life and affection. CAPTAIN HOOK is the kind of cat who explores every corner with wide-eyed wonder, always curious about what’s behind the next door or beneath that crinkly paper bag. He’s never met a can of wet food he didn’t adore—just the sound of the lid popping open will have him trotting over with anticipation! A true people-cat, CAPTAIN HOOK leans into gentle pets with a contented purr and melts under chin scratches. He has a soft spot for affection and seems to be warming up to the idea of becoming a full-on snuggler—he’s shown real promise for cuddling beside his humans and soaking in the warmth of a cozy nap together. Whether he's curling up for a quiet rest or springing into play mode, his presence is a soothing, joyful addition to any room. CAPTAIN HOOK also does well with other feline companions and would likely thrive in a home with fellow friendly cats. He enjoys social playtime, particularly with wand toys or anything that rustles, making him a wonderful playmate and a great fit for a lively, cat-friendly home. His easygoing attitude and love of companionship mean he’ll slip smoothly into a caring environment with a little patience and a lot of love. His notable quirks? He’s a big fan of watching you go about your day, almost like your personal furry shadow. And he’s got a soft, inquisitive meow that he uses to politely ask for dinner or a little attention. Are you ready to welcome a playful, curious, and loving companion into your life? CAPTAIN HOOK might just be the swashbuckling sweetheart your heart’s been waiting for. Apply at Workinwhiskers.com and let this bold and beautiful boy sail into your home and your heart! CAPTAIN HOOK is a DOMESTIC SHORT HAIR / BOMBAY MIX. He is about 1 year and 2 months old.
