The name Lovey Dove cannot be anymore fitting for this sweet angel baby. She has love running through her veins, through every single strand of fur, from the tip of her nose and all the way to the end of her tail. Lovey quite literally RADIATES love. Every single person that meets her has and will say she is the most loving dog they have ever met. You feel her love with in milliseconds of meeting her, there is no time wasted with this gal. Even with kids, it's an immediate connection. There truly is not one negative thing I could say about Lovey Dove. If you have a certain check list when searching for the right dog for you, Lovey is most likely going to check off 99% of that list. Watch her video and feel her love radiate off the screen: https://youtu.be/NiAh9nUrtoA?si=u9-M-fCpYf3vRbJK Lovey Dove is a pittie mix approximately 1 year old and currently weighs 41 lbs. Y'all, don't let her pictures fool you because she is a TINY little thing and is full grown. She barely even takes up a whole couch cushion (there's proof in her video LOL). Lovey Dove is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee age or breed. One thing is for certain, you will never experience a day where you do not feel loved by this girl. As repetitive as this may sound, the constant references about how loving she is, it's just an absolute fact and something that we feel needs to be said over and over again LOL. One of my favorite things about Lovey (besides the obvious) is the way she is around kids. From the moment Kobe (4yr old) walked in to meet her, she was immediately infatuated with him and so at ease around him. I felt so comfortable with Lovey around Kobe that I was taking her leash off within 30 seconds of her meeting him for the first time. Watching her with him was the sweetest most heart melting moment, you could tell it was a match made in heaven. Lovey was so gentle in the way she was showing him affection, inching towards while in a sit position, and gently crawling up into his lap to give him kisses and then curling right up next to him on the couch for cuddles and belly rubs. Kobe had the biggest smile on his face too and even agreed that her name is perfect for her. Lovey was also a gentle angel baby when Kobe wanted to practice his training skills and see what tricks she can do. She would sit when he asked her to and took treats with the softest mouth. She also never jumped up to get a treat from him and was patient the entire time. We have not seen her with kids younger than 4 years old and we can absolutely test that for you to be certain but based off what we've seen so far, we believe she would thrive in a home with kids. Lovey Dove is a social little butterfly even with dogs. She is very dog friendly and has done great with every dog we have introduced her to. Lovey does great meeting new dogs, on leash and off. She'll do a quick sniff and then go on about her business. She has a more relaxed mellow submissive vibe about her with other dogs and will play every now and then. When she does play, it's very bouncy and lighthearted, never getting too physical or rough. She likes to bounce along side her friends frolicking around in the yard. Lovey doesn't mind if other dogs are rough housing around her or engaging in a game of chase near by. She's happy to sit back and watch all the action. She can be around young rambunctious puppies, large dominant males, relaxed ladies like her self and has no problems with any of them, she's happy to co-exist and hangout. If play gets too rough for her when she does decide to play, she will give a correction letting the other dog know that's just not the way she likes to play. Lovey is a dainty gal what can we say. In a home, she would do best with a dog that is low-medium energy like herself, has a gentle play style that can match hers, a pup that isn't looking for a constant playmate, and one that is also happy to enjoy those relaxing calm moments as well. If you don't have another dog, that's fine too! Lovey does not need the company of another dog in the home to help her feel comfortable or to fulfill her energy needs. She is confident and comfortable around people out the gate and can match the energy you want from her. Lovey also did good when she met our house cat biggie. She honestly avoided him like the plague and wanted noting to do with him LOL. She would do best in a home with a cat that is not looking to be best friends with a dog and is happy to keep to themselves. There are a lot of options for the type of home environment that Lovey would thrive in. She would be happy in an apartment/condo setting with walks around the neighborhood or down to your local coffee shop. She also would be happy in a home with a backyard where she can stretch her legs, romp around, bask in the sun during those nice summer days, etc. We can see her thriving in either setting. Lovey is a low-medium energy gal that would be happy as a clam having a lazy Sunday snuggling on the couch all day long and just as happy to go on a walk or mini adventure. She is the best of both worlds and can do both. Lovey is easy to walk on a leash and a perfect companion for a early morning/evening strolls to the park. She is also crate and potty trained, and already knows how to sit. Lovey is eager to please and loves treats too so any additional training you want to do with her will be a fun and enjoyable experience for you both. She might choose your affection over a treat though LOL it's her love language. Overall, all Lovey is a simple gal ready to show you a level of love you've never experienced before. We are willing to test Lovey Dove with anything you need us to in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!
