My story

**Chapelle is currently in foster in Puerto Rico, and will be flown to Newark, NJ on July 16th (included in her adoption fee). Apply today!** Meet Chapelle! How can humans take a sweet soul like this, and toss her out of the car like she's nothing?!?! She and another puppy were found cruely abandoned in front of a local church - and we decided to change her perception and use "Chapelle" as a fancy twist on "Chapel" for this black beauty. She's a dream! She is estimated to be 5 1/2 months old as of July 6th and weighs 24 lbs on her vet healthy dog release visit. So, we expect her to be around 35-45 lbs fully grown. Chapelle is soooo motivated by positive human touch and interaction. Even as a hungry, mistreated pup when found June 8th, she would be in the middle of scarfing down her food and stop to run over for loves - she was clearly conflicted on which basic need was more powerful. She is VERY smart, and in the short time we've had her has learned: sit, stay (somewhat :)), come, fetch, wait, and potty training. She is fine in the crate, but has not been "puppy destructive" so is allowed open crate and roaming. She is 90% potty trained, hitting the "area" in her large play area and going outside while exercising with her foster family! Her coat is silky soft and she's recovering nicely from the mange that resulted from her neglect. Oh my... need some loves? Miss Chapelle is your girl! She's so human-motivated and while curious and super playful with other dogs, so far would much rather launch from your lap, grab a toy, and play fetch with her people. She would be great for an active family with kids or an adult-only home that will take her on hikes and outdoor activities and finish up at the campfire.
