Dora is such a special lab mix at just a little over 2 years old. Dora came to us from one of our Texas partners looking for a chance. Dora arrived at their shelter at just 3 months old and has never left. To most people she is just another black dog who has been overlooked. The animal crisis is at an all time high in most places so there are so many good dogs that are just being missed. Dora thankfully did not show any kennel stress and never lost who she was. She was star of the play group. She was friendly with everyone she met. So we knew we had to give her a chance! Dora is adjusting to living in a home for the first time. She is willing, curious and loving but of course a bit timid. Luckily, she doesn't stay timid for long and she is happy to show everyone her loving self! She is so dog friendly, great in her crate, cuddly, loves meeting new people, gentle with children at events and over all just looking for a place to call her own. Her ideal home would have a back yard or have a family willing to be patient with her because though she has the leash down she does get nervous in some high trafficked areas because of noises but I can tell that with consistency she will passed that quickly. Dora is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, up to date on preventatives, spayed and microchipped. She is currently being fostered in Chicago and accepting applications within a 3 hour radius. If you have any questions please email adopt@chicagorescueauthority.org.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Dora, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
