My story

Currently being fostered in Seven Valley, PA Meet Hawkins – The Blue-Eyed Wonder with a Heart of Gold Personality With one ear that pops up like an antenna and a patch over one eye that looks straight out of a comic book, Hawkins is nothing short of magical. He’s a gentle, soulful boy who is learning that the world isn’t so scary - and that couches are, in fact, amazing. Though he started out timid, Hawkins is coming out of his shell beautifully, gaining confidence with each passing day. Energy Level Hawkins has a balanced, gentle energy. He enjoys playtime and activity with other dogs, then settles down for a nap in a cozy spot. If left to his own devices too long, he might do a little exploratory chewing - but with companionship and enrichment, he’s a well-mannered delight. Skills and Training - Deaf – and learning to use visual cues and signals - Learning recall through treats and praise - Sleeps through the night in his crate - Crate hesitant, but once in, he rests quietly - No accidents in the house while in foster care - Still learning routines, but very responsive and eager to connect Companionship Hawkins’ superpower is connection. He is a natural with children, has been excellent with dogs, and is even polite with cats. He would thrive in a home with a confident dog companion and a family who can offer him consistency, comfort, and lots of love. He’s learning to trust, and once he bonds - he bonds for life. Love and Affection One look into Hawkins’ stunning blue eyes, and you’ll never forget him. He has a gentle, magical way of winning hearts - especially the little ones. Whether he’s lounging on a bed, snuggled next to a child, or playing gently with a dog friend, Hawkins gives off the warmth of a pup who just wants to belong.
