My story

 Zuzu is an 8-year-old Havapoo (Havanese/Poodle) currently weighing in at just over 18 lbs—and proud of it!! She’s been working hard on her weight-loss journey, down from 23 lbs., and already showing a new spring in her step. But don’t be fooled, her cardio days are long gone. She prefers leisurely neighborhood strolls and cheering herself on with the occasional apple slice.   This sweet senior girl is the picture of polite: * Impeccable house manners * Quiet (thanks in part to some hearing loss) * No jumping, no accidents, no drama * Total pro at soaking up belly rubs and dishing out silent judgment   Zuzu LOVES food—with a passion other dogs reserve for squirrel chases and tennis balls. But her ideal home isn’t one that spoils her with treats. It’s one that shows love through structure, care, and commitment to her health. Her new family will need the strength to resist those pleading eyes and stick to the vet-approved snack plan. (Yes, she’ll try to outwit you. No, you can’t cave.)   She enjoys the company of other respectful dogs and accepts gentle pets from everyone like the dignified little empress she is. She hasn't been cat tested, but she would likely ignore any feline companions. She may not throw a party when you walk in the room, but trust us—she adores your attention, in her own quiet way. She rides in a car great, sleeps in her foster's bed…or the couch if she's pouting and prefers free range to being crated. Honestly, she's such a good girl there's been no need to crate her.   Due to her age, Zuzu may face future health needs, including monitoring for age-related concerns. She has cataracts and is hard of hearing, so she’ll thrive in a home that offers patience, routine, and a calm environment.
