My story

Meet Valkor! This handsome sweetheart is a total gem on the leash and already knows “sit!” Valkor loves gentle pets and being near his people. He recently went on a 2 mile run with one of our run team volunteers and he would make a great training partner, if that’s youre thing. He’s calm, affectionate, and ready to be your loyal sidekick. Come meet him at ACCT Philly, open daily from 10 am to 6 pm, you might just fall in love! BEHAVIOR 07/15/2025 staff notes, playgroup: Valkor was semi steerable, pushy with good greetings. he was bouncy and doesnt take corrections 07/15/2025 staff notes: Valkor was very easy to leash with a waging tai land soft eyes. he pulled moderately and was a bit rowdy outside. he was curious outside, greeting everyone with a wagging tail. he could be a bit jumpy with play but calms down for some cuddles when he got a bit overzealous. he allowed all handling and took treats very nicely from me, even returning right back without issue. gold 07/13/2025 day trip notes The dog overall has good behavior but he was too anxious all the time and his tail was most of the time down, even when I tried to pet he feels scared and anxious that I am harming him. Also any small moment change surrounding him he was anxious, for example a kid ran down below a small bridge we are crossing and he felt so scared and start to run away from me quickly. Even I tried to fix a leash that’s tangled around his body he was scared to let me fix 07/12/2025 volunteer notes: BEHAVIOR EVALUATION: Valkor KENNEL PRESENTATION: Valkor was sitting at the front of his Kennel quietly waiting to go outside I gave him a treat which he took gently open the kennel door leash him up easily stepped right out and walked outside. LEASH SKILLS: Well mannered on leash. Stayed right by my side. He is house trained. SOCIABILITY : Valkor is very friendly and social. He looks to his handler for direction and appreciates attention and a “good boy” now and again. Although he’s not an affection seeker, he allows handling all over, head, body, and paws. He comes when calls, knows sit, and takes treats very gently. PLAY & TOYS: We ran 2 miles he was bouncy and playful. But we didn’t play w toys. DOG INTERACTION: Did not see a dog outside of kennels. But was disinterested walking through. RETURNING TO KENNEL: Valkors kennel was being cleaned when we returned and he sat patiently and watched curiously while staff finished. Then he jumped right in and had a post run treat COLOR LEVEL: Gold 07/11/2025 Valkor was great on the leash and knows sit! He’s so sweet and loves pets.
