My story

** Note: Hoho will be ready for his flight to Vancouver once adopted. Background Hoho was rescued from a heartbreaking hoarding situation. He was one of 19 dogs abandoned in a parking lot and later taken to a city pound. Thankfully, all 19 dogs were rescued in time. When we found Hoho, his back legs were already paralyzed. We’re not sure what caused it, but our vet believes he may have been living in that condition for years. Today, Hoho lives safely at our partner boarding house, surrounded by other dogs, and continues to amaze us with his resilience and gentle soul. Personality & Socialization Hoho is a sweet, mellow, and affectionate boy who loves people. He’s not shy and warms up quickly to both new people and other gentle dogs his size. His favorite thing? Being close to his humans. He’s obedient, calm, and very cuddly — the kind of dog who just wants to be by your side. He hasn’t been tested with cats, but given his friendly and easygoing nature, we believe he could do well with cats after a slow and proper introduction. Behavior & Adaptability Hoho is incredibly adaptable. He’s learned how to move around in his wheelchair like a pro, and he loves being outdoors, going for walks, and just soaking in the world around him. Despite his condition, he’s full of life, curious, and eager to engage. He’s well-behaved at the vet, in the car, and even during grooming and bath time. The only time you’ll hear him bark is when he gets excited for mealtime — other than that, he’s calm and quiet. Health & Care When rescued, Hoho was in terrible shape — severely matted, paralyzed in the back, and suffering from a corneal ulcer in one eye. Since then, he has received thorough veterinary care, including Autologous Serum Therapy (AST) for his eye. His vision is not affected, and the cloudiness in his right eye is continuing to improve. Although paralyzed, Hoho can potty on his own. He just needs a little help cleaning up afterward. He’s gone through a full veterinary workup, including an MRI, and aside from his existing condition, he’s in good health. He has been neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and tested for parasites. He has a healthy appetite, eating dry food twice a day, and has shown no signs of allergies. Ideal Home Hoho would thrive in a calm and loving home with someone who has the time to be present — whether you work from home, are retired, or simply lead a relaxed lifestyle. He doesn’t ask for much, just your time, patience, and love. --------------------- For more info about the dog, or the adoption application, please follow the link below. https://www.freekoreandogs.org/dog/hoho-3/
