My story

Currently being fostered in Mechanicsville, VA Meet Dutchess – Your Tiny Shadow with Big Puppy Energy This 8-week-old shepherd mix may only weigh 7 lbs, but she’s already packed with personality and charm. With gorgeous markings, a striking dark mask, and soft fur that’s irresistible to pet, Dutchess is the kind of pup who makes everyone she meets fall in love. Personality Dutchess is full of curiosity, confidence, and cuddles. She’s social, playful, and enjoys following her people everywhere they go. She loves attention and companionship but prefers to keep her paws on the ground - after all, there’s a whole world to explore! Energy Level She’s got classic puppy energy: zipping around one minute, snoozing peacefully at your feet the next. Dutchess plays well with other dogs and entertains herself with toys or chew bones when playmates aren’t available. Skills and Training - Learning to use pee pads - Starting crate training - Learning to read other dogs’ cues - Curious and engaged in her environment - Sleeps well after a day of play Companionship Dutchess has been friendly with everyone she’s met so far, including her foster siblings. She’s especially fond of her buddy Pip and would love to have canine companionship in her forever home - or just be part of a home where she’s rarely alone. Love and Affection She’s affectionate, silly, and loves being part of the action. Dutchess may not want to be held for long, but she’s always nearby, ready to curl up close or play at your feet. She’s the kind of pup who thrives on inclusion—cuddles, play, and everyday adventure.
