My story

MBR holds monthly adoption events on the 2nd Saturday of every month at Tractor Supply in Columbia Station, 24100 Royalton Road from 11 am - 2 pm. Questions can be emailed to rescue@mbrohio.com Rusty is a 1-year-old Shepherd mix with a heart full of love and legs almost ready to run again! This medium-sized pup is the perfect mix of goofy energy and sweet cuddles. He’s currently on crate rest after being hit by a car and breaking a front leg—but don’t worry, he’s healing like a champ and will be back to his zoomie self in no time. Rusty loves going for car rides and enjoys being out and about as much as he can. Despite being confined for now, Rusty’s high spirits haven’t dimmed one bit. He’s learning to tolerate his crate (not his favorite place), and while we’re still figuring out if he’s fully house-trained, he’s had zero accidents so far. Not bad for a pup on the mend! While he’s still learning to navigate his injury with limited play time, Rusty has shown he knows how to sit on command and is a super smart boy. Rusty LOVES his toys; he thinks balls are super cool and just wants someone to play fetch with. He thoroughly enjoys licky mats to get some energy out while he’s healing. He snuggles up for cuddles whenever he gets the chance, and is ready to give his whole heart to a family who’ll keep him safe and let him live his best life once he’s recovered. Rusty gets along well with other dogs and older kids, but he hasn’t been tested with cats, or young children just yet. If you're looking for a young, resilient, and lovable pup to grow with, Rusty’s your guy. Get your applications in quick for an opportunity to meet him—you’ll fall for him fast. If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, the first thing to do is submit an application for approval. All dogs available for adoption are in foster homes. Please do not visit the rescue location as it is a privately run boarding, training & grooming facility. Individual meet and greets are scheduled by appointment only for approved adopters.
