Almost Home believes that every animal deserves a loving home regardless of appearance, age, or physical limitation. We have come together to give animals in need the safe and happy life they all deserve. Almost Home Animal Rescue believes that no animal is expendable. Adopting a friend:The animals, lucky enough to find refuge with Almost Home, are all in loving foster homes. If you are interested in the possibility of giving one of the animals a new lease on life, please contact us. The contact information is listed at the end of each biography. What you need to do to adopt:If you would like to adopt a pet in need from Almost Home, basically, an application must be filled out. We will check two personal references and a vet reference. If you are approved for adoption, there is a trial period of about one week to make sure this is the animal for you and you are the person for the animal. Along with the trial period, a contract must be signed that basically states that if ever you cannot keep the animal that you must return the animal to Almost Home. Last but not least, a home check will be done. Meet & Greets:An approved application is required. This does not mean that you have to adopt but that you are approved to do so if everything works out. Since we are foster based, this limits the amount of people coming to our homes. Hello there, kind soul… We’re Blair and Clair — two tiny torbie sisters with big hearts, soft fur, and a whole lot of love to give. We’re about eight to nine weeks old, and while we may still be little, our story already has a few twists. You see, we were born outside, but only we were lucky enough to be rescued. Our mommy and the rest of our siblings were too scared to be caught. We miss them, but we hold on tight to each other — always. We are each other’s world. We eat together, nap together, play together, and purr ourselves to sleep snuggled in a warm, safe pile. If you take one of us, you take the other — we’re a package deal, two matching puzzle pieces made to stay together forever. Everyone we meet says we’re the sweetest kittens they’ve ever seen. The nice people at the vet’s office always gush over us — and not just because we're beautiful (though we are pretty striking, if we say so ourselves). Blair has more warm brown in her coat, like golden sunlight through trees, and Clair has more black, deep and rich like velvet shadows. But what really makes us special is how much we love — we love each other, we love our foster daddy, and we love cuddling up to the big Siamese kitty who shares our foster home. We let her groom us, snuggle us, and tuck us in. We just love being close to someone. We're cuddle bugs, through and through. We will curl up on your chest, on your shoulder, or anywhere we can feel your heartbeat. When we’re not snuggled up in a warm lap, we’re chasing toy mice, pouncing after each other’s tails, or exploring every corner of the house with big curious eyes and wobbly kitten steps. We dream of a forever home where we can feel safe and loved. Where we can cuddle up together at night in a cozy bed, and stretch out in sunbeams during the day. Where someone will whisper our names — Blair and Clair — and we’ll know we’re finally home. Will you be the one to complete our story? Please say yes. We’re waiting, with tiny paws and even bigger hopes. With love and soft purrs,Blair & Clair *MUST be adopted together**Due to our size, no small children.* If you would like to meet your new best friends, contact the Adoption Coordinator at info@almosthometn.org or 865-236-0830. To fill out an application, go to www.almosthometn.org. If you cannot get it to work, let us know and we will email it to you in a different format. Unless otherwise noted, all Almost Home cats are healthy, spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and flea & tick preventative. ****When puppies and kittens are adopted before being fixed, they MUST be adopted in East Tennessee.ADOPTION FEE: The adoption fee for a cat is $85. The adoption fee for a kitten is $100. The adoption fee does include the kittens being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. The adoption fee for a dog is $200. The adoption fee for a puppy is $250. The adoption fee does include the puppies being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. Mature pet adoption fees are sometimes reduced. The adoption fee for pure bred dogs and cats will vary due to health and age of pet. This helps support our ill animals and our mutts that get left in the system longer. We do reserve the right to change the fees higher or lower due to the circumstance of the animal but what was stated above are the usual adoption fees. Microchipped pets will have a higher adoption fee. Our adoption fees do not cover the cost of the vetting and care the animal has received with us and if it ever does, the money just goes back it to helping other animals in need.
