My story

Meet August! This beautiful 7-month-old Retriever mix was brought to us in June as a stray after she ended up in her finder’s yard. When she arrived in our care, our medical team found that August had a previous injury to her back right leg that had healed incorrectly. To give her the best quality of life, it was decided to amputate the injured leg, and she has already made a great recovery! August has adjusted beautifully to tri-pod life and is now ready to find a forever family where she can have fun and play. This cutie is so lovable with her larger-than-life ears and pretty markings! She loves treats and knows how to Sit, and she’s ready to keep learning in her forever home. August came in with another dog, so she does have the potential to join a home with a canine sibling after the proper intro!
